Lace Raw Hide

For a 100% natural drum, use Lace Raw Hide made from water buffalo. Water buffalo hide is very well suited for use as lacing cord for your shamanic drum. The width is approximately 1 cm and the thickness of the lace is on average 0.2 cm. While lacing, you wet the lace and as it dries it shrinks, bringing your drum to a higher tension. For the lace we recommend slightly larger holes, approximately 5 to 6 mm — the hole punch pliers are perfect for making neat round holes in your drum skin. Lace is available in lengths of 9 and 18 metres!
