This page explains which cookies Sjamaan.nl uses and why. In short: we only use cookies the shop needs to work. We use no analytics cookies, no marketing cookies and no cookies from other parties. That is why we do not ask for your consent; on your first visit you only see a notice.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. The same rules apply to other data a website keeps in your browser, such as 'local storage' and 'session storage', so we list those below too.

Which cookies do we use?

All of these cookies are necessary. They come from our own shop and only this shop can read them.

NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the language you view the shop in. Kept until you close your browser.
csrf-token: security. Checks that a form you send really comes from our shop (protection against 'cross-site request forgery'). Kept for 1 hour.
__Host-cart_session_id: remembers your cart when you are not signed in. This cookie is only set when you put something in your cart. Kept for 7 days after you last put something in your cart.
__Host-authjs.csrf-token: secures signing in. Kept until you close your browser.
__Secure-authjs.callback-url: remembers which page to take you back to after you sign in. Kept until you close your browser.
__Secure-authjs.session-token: keeps you signed in. This cookie is only set when you sign in. Kept until you sign out, or until you have not visited the shop for 30 days.

What else we store in your browser

sjamaan_cookie_consent (local storage): remembers that you have seen the cookie notice, so that it does not come back on every visit. It holds only the value 'true' and stays until you clear it in your browser.
sjamaan.checkout.v1 (session storage): remembers what you filled in at checkout (such as your name, address and email address), so that you do not have to fill it in again when you come back from the payment page. It stays only in this browser tab, is not sent to us, and disappears when you close the tab or once your order is paid.

Error reports, without cookies

If something goes wrong in your browser on our shop, your browser sends an error report to our error tracking (Bugsink, on a server in Germany that The Werks manages for us). We set no cookies for this and store nothing on your device. What such an error report contains and how long we keep it is explained in our privacy policy.

Visitor statistics, without cookies

To see how our shop is used, we count visits with Umami, on a server in Germany that The Werks manages for us. Umami sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not keep your IP address. What Umami counts is explained in our privacy policy.

No cookies from other parties

Our shop loads no advertising or tracking scripts, fonts or videos from other companies. The product photos come from our storage at Hetzner in Germany, which sets no cookies. Links to, for example, Trustpilot, YouTube or social media are plain links: only when you click one do you go to that website, and that party's cookie and privacy rules apply there. The same goes for Pay.nl's payment page, where you go to pay for your order.

Deleting or blocking cookies

You can delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. If you do that with the cookies above, parts of the shop stop working, such as signing in, your cart and sending forms.

Changes

If we ever use cookies that are not necessary, we will first update this cookie policy and ask for your consent beforehand where the law requires it.
